I discovered the Egoscue Method of posture therapy after years of suffering from chronic pain, the result of an auto accident which left me with herniated and bulging discs in my cervical spine. Like many who suffer from chronic pain, I tried a variety of methods to reduce my pain including physical therapy, chiropractic, massage, nerve blocks, an epidural, electrical stimulation, acupuncture, therapeutic yoga, pain medication, nutrition, and so on. While some of these methods brought minor relief, none of them seemed to get to the root of what was causing my pain and limiting my ability to do many of the daily things we often take for granted. After seeing various doctors, I was ultimately told that I was facing pain management the rest of my life. That prompted my own research leading me to Egoscue, the world leader in non-medical pain relief. This method of posture therapy gave some relief from my pain right away through its gentle, corrective exercises. As I continued the exercises I began to see positive changes in my health, appearance, and sense of well-being. My posture improved and I began to sleep better and wake up more rested with increased energy levels. My balance and metabolism also improved and my pain and limitations began falling away. Most importantly, the minutia of hope I had been hanging onto was replaced by a vision and unshakable belief that the pain would completely go away. My posture therapy results were so profound that I left my career as a loan officer to become a Postural Alignment Specialist in order to share this method with others. In 2013, I completed my Postural Alignment Specialist I certification, at which time I began assisting others in their journey to eliminate chronic pain. Later, I received my Postural Alignment Specialist II certification in 2014. Now, my passion is to help others transform out of that depressed state of mind where chronic pain sufferers can find themselves–to a belief in a pain free way of living.
